Getting to Luton by train

Travelling to Luton by train couldn't be easier, the Luton Airport Express runs every 30 minutes from London St Pancras International to the airport in as little as 32 minutes.

It’s never been easier to travel to London Luton Airport. Departing from London St Pancras International (connected by six London Underground lines), the Luton Airport Express takes you direct to Luton Airport Parkway station in just 22 minutes where you will then jump onboard the Luton DART for the short 4-minute connection directly to the Terminal.

The Luton Airport Express services run seven days a week with half-hourly services Monday – Saturday and regular services on Sunday.


Travelling to London Luton Airport from London?

Monday – Friday: Trains run from 05:45 to 23:55 on weekdays between London St Pancras International and Luton Airport Parkway

Saturday – Sunday: Trains start at 05:33 on Saturdays and 12:14 on Sundays. The last train to Luton Airport Parkway is at 22:18 on Saturday and 22:12 on Sunday

Travelling from London Luton Airport to London?           

Monday to Friday: The last Luton Airport Express train to London St Pancras leaves Luton Airport Parkway at 23:25

Saturday – Sunday: The last train from Luton Airport Parkway to London is at 22:28 and at 21:58 on Sundays

What's onboard?

Luggage: Vestibules for suitcases and overhead racks for hand luggage and smaller bags available (maximum of three items of luggage on board - up to two larger items and a smaller bag - but make sure you only bring the luggage you can carry yourself)

Travelling with children: all toilets have baby-changing facilities. Pushchairs and prams are welcome and should be folded and stored in vestibules during your journey

Catering services are not available onboard

Bikes: There aren’t any dedicated cycle spaces on the Luton Airport Express but you can bring a folding bike on board at any time as long as it’s fully folded and safely stowed throughout the journey.

Purchase tickets in advance

Purchase your Luton Airport Express tickets in advance to get the best deals. You can buy Advance tickets from up to 12 weeks ahead until just five minutes before the train leaves.

You must travel at the time and between the train stations shown on your ticket

You can get a refund on Advance tickets if your train is cancelled or delayed

You’ll need to buy a new ticket if you miss the train you’re booked on

Travelling anytime

For the flexibility to change your travel plans – choose an Anytime ticket. 

Anytime Day tickets are valid on the date shown on the ticket up to 04:29 the following day

Use Anytime Singles within two days of the date shown

For Anytime Returns, travel out within five days of the date shown and return within 28 days


Travelling off peak

Travel at quieter times of day with Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak tickets.

Off-Peak/Super Off-Peak tickets are valid on the date shown on the ticket and up to 04:29 the next day

Monday to Friday - Arriving into London

Buy Off-Peak tickets for trains getting into London at or after 10:03

Buy Super Off-Peak tickets for trains getting into London at or after 11:36

Buy Anytime tickets for travel at any time of day

Monday to Friday - Travelling out of London

Buy Off-Peak tickets for trains departing from 08:47 - 16:34, and from 18:47 onwards On Fridays, your outward ticket from London is valid all day from 08:47

Buy Super Off-Peak tickets for trains departing from 10:05 - 15:34, and from 18:47 onwards

Between 16:34 and 18:47, Anytime tickets are the only valid ticket - use them for travel at any time of day 

Saturday and Sunday

Buy Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak tickets for travel at any time, all weekend
